My name is Rachel, and I look forward to welcoming you to my little slice of heaven in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

I first came to Australia from the UK to participate in Operation Raleigh before later returning to make Australia my home. Since then, my career has taken many different paths, including working as a programmer, IT trainer and primary school teacher. I have also enjoyed casual work in television commercials and local amateur theatre productions in Nambour.

​

As a long-term volunteer wildlife rescuer and carer, I have a deep appreciation for Australia's unique native animals and the importance of protecting their natural habitat. Over the years, I've also enjoyed sharing that passion through community education and television features promoting Australia's unique wildlife.

Mapleton Springs sits on 3.5 acres adjoining more than 200 acres of protected native forest. Native birds are frequent visitors, and wallabies are often seen around the property, particularly around dawn and dusk. Caring for the environment and supporting local wildlife conservation are values at the heart of Mapleton Springs.

I am also a volunteer with the local SES and the Mapleton and Kureelpa Rural Fire Brigades.

Mapleton Springs reflects my love of peaceful places, native wildlife and the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. I hope every guest leaves feeling refreshed, relaxed and with a deeper appreciation for this remarkable part of Queensland.
